August 31st '07. Merdeka!

We decided to have dinner first before heading out to DP to watch the fireworks held at the Curve. Spectacular spot we found, and thanks to Nad's car visor-cum-flash reflector and now mat, we hung out with the other locals waiting for midnight to strike. Midnight came and the fireworks started. Man, A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! We not only saw one, but three shows from different sites right from where we sat.

We actually went out to photograph the show, but me with my unsteady hands coupled with the excitement, just couldn't perform! Thank God for our pro girlfriend who came equipped with her gadgets and gizmos, even supplied us with mosquito repellant without which I was sure to complain of the uncomfiness and not have a great time hahaha!!

Merdeka, 50th and counting. Thanks to our forefathers who fought for this land to be free and flourish for the next generations. And loving thought and memory for my Pops who helped fought for this independence...

Soccer Maniac.. lately...

So my day went on as usual yesterday until Bear texted me around 6 pm calling for an unexpected meeting (when we already agreed to clear the Independence Week of any meetings)... Shortly after that the Mr. called to suggest going out for the night to which of course i agreed too, it'd be dumb for me to deny my own principles wouldn't it? :-). Nad also called with another agenda more interesting than the first two - the soccer! After a round of explanation with Bear, saying we were gonna watch Pesta Bola Merdeka finals (Independence Football Fest) which Malaysia'd made to the finals (how rare of an occurence is that...), my head was off the noose. 'Glad Bear had a trickle of nationalism in him to excuse me from the meeting we shouldn't have in the first place (he was mean anyway wishing we'd lose so I'd have a bad time and feeling missing the meeting going to a no-win match). BUT, Malaysia won 3-1 to Myanmar! Haha that made a good close to my day!

It was a good game, with a few yellow cards and a red card thrown here and there, I should categorize it as a rough game. A near incident of crazy spectators doing the water bottle rain into the field until an official stood up and practically begged for them to be a good sport. But DAMN fine it was. And a fine gift to the nation for its 50th independence it is.

Woohoo!!

TV Hero?

This coming Friday is Malaysia's 50th Independence Day. Almost everybody whose a somebody in the corporate world's doing something to support this national agenda. Not only the corporate world, schools and the education industry also have a hand in educating the youngsters patriotism and the whole nine yards.... With these, enter my Junior and TV3. He's been excited since before the school midterm holidays telling us the tv station's coming to his school to shoot for the National Day prep. So yesterday right after the Mr. got out to send Junior to school I sat in front of the tv. True enough... it was live screening heheheeeee....

Children and teachers sang to the Jalur Gemilang song, gosh I must say something got to me. To see Junior waving the tiny flag, all cheery with his mates, some overwhelming feeling that was... I've never been patriotic myself, but that doesn't mean I don't love my country nonetheless. I'm proud to see Junior on tv demonstrating his feelings for the country for about 5 whole minutes and then some more on a different segment (err... maybe he's just following along without having a clue what the hoo ha was, but anyways...) and I'm glad he went to a public school. Kudos teachers of SK Tropicana!! The Mr. of course captured the moment on his phone which later in the evening he showed to me.

Junior came home in the afternoon all excited asking me if I caught him on tv to which I replied of course I did and there goes his cheeky smile... Right after lunch Pops and Moms called him and they all visited the morning agenda again to Junior's delight. He absolutely loved the attention he was getting. My tv hero :-)

Finally!

Yes, finally! I've done this after a year spent drowning in other boring routine...

Good for me.
